Climate variability in the Canadian interior: Coupling proxy data and GCM simulations (2002-05)
This research focuses on the climate variability of the past 1000 years in the western Canadian interior, and will improve the modeling of future climate variability and the interpretation of past climates.
Climate variability simulated by global climate models will be compared to climate variability from paleoclimate records. New knowledge will be provided to assess impacts of climate variability on natural and social systems. Canada will benefit through the development of policy and programs for minimizing the cost of climate extremes and variability.
